The Purpose of Apologetics In Print

I created this blog for the purpose of promoting the ministry of Christian apologetics, particularly apologetical books.  Christian apologetics is defined as the defense of the faith (providing rational answers to objections raised against the faith).  The ministry of apologetics in a Christian's life has many biblical affirmations, the most direct one being 1 Peter 3:15 which states "Always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you."

Christian apologetics has a two-fold effect; it can be a path for helping non-Christians to see the irrationality of the attacks against the Bible, and apologetics can also help believers themselves to have a stronger and more confident faith that is not based on emotions alone.  Concerning this latter point, Christian apologist William Lane Craig stated:

"People who simply ride the roller coaster of emotional experience are cheating themselves out of a deeper and richer Christian faith by neglecting the intellectual side of that faith.  They know little of the riches of deep understanding of Christian truth, of the confidence inspired by the discovery that one's faith is logical and fits the facts of experience, and of the stability brought to one's life by the conviction that one's faith is objectively true."
- William Lane Craig, Reasonable Faith, Introduction, pg 14

It is my hope that this blog will help provide meaningful and beneficial book recommendations that will assist all people that seek out in depth and insightful answers to the many concentrated and often harsh objections raised against Christianity in our time.

"Always be ready to give a defense." - 1 Peter 3:15
